Workshop
Dance × Photography: Crossing between Movement and Stillness
Nov 6 | 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM | LP 49, Langham Place Office Tower |
Photography is often seen as a medium that freezes a moment in time, while dance exists in a state of constant motion. In this workshop, we will reverse these roles and explore what happens when still images become the starting point for movement.
Participants will journey through different corners of the mall, using photography to capture interactions between body and space. Rather than serving as a final document, these images will become the source material for a new creative process.
After the photography session, participants will revisit and reinterpret their images, drawing inspiration from the shapes, lines, emotions, and spatial relationships captured within each frame. Through guided improvisation and movement exploration, they will translate visual ideas into embodied dance phrases, transforming static images into living, evolving movement.
By moving back and forth between photography and dance, the workshop invites participants to blur the boundaries between stillness and motion, discovering how images can spark choreography and how the body can bring photographs to life.
The session concludes with a sharing and reflection, offering space to discuss the creative journey and uncover new possibilities between body, image, space, and imagination.

Inherited Tides - Site specific dance excerpt
Pop-Up | -stay tuned- | Langham Place |
"Inherited Tides" is choreographer Kenny Leung's new work, created from his family memories as a descendant of the boat-dwelling people of Aberdeen. Looking back on loss and farewell, it asks what “home” and “roots” truly mean. The theatre work will be premiered in Jan 2027.
This site-specific dance excerpt offers audiences an early entry into the work’s core imagery, as the body carries the boat’s memory, relationships, and inheritance — seeking direction and a place to settle amid the city’s noise and constant movement.

Workshop
Between Bodies: Partner Thai Massage × Movement Exploration
Nov 7 | 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM | LP 49, Langham Place Office Tower |
Have you ever started a conversation through touch?
In this workshop, we will begin with the foundations of Partner Thai Massage, working in pairs to explore basic massage, support, and stretching techniques. Through hands-on practice, participants will gain an understanding of weight sharing, breath coordination, and safe, effective use of the body.
As the session unfolds, we will gradually transform the qualities of touch, support, communication, and flow found in Thai massage into movement. Combining dance, stretching, and improvisational exploration, participants will discover new possibilities for movement and connection between bodies.
Through touch, trust, cooperation, and responsive interaction, we will explore how caring for another person's body can evolve into a creative and performative experience. Whether or not you have prior dance experience, you are warmly invited to join with curiosity and an open mind, and experience how movement can naturally emerge and flow between people.

Duet Excerpt from Voyage of the Eight Graces: Along her long, unfolding journey, Ah Ya pauses to look back on the moments and loves that shaped her past. Two dancers touch lightly, only to quietly let go—a tender companionship that eventually yields to departure. Looking back, amidst every memory of love and farewell, Ah Ya finally meets herself.
The Garland Waltz opens Act I of Tchaikovsky's The Sleeping Beauty, composed in 1889 and premiered in 1890 at the Mariinsky Theatre with choreography by Marius Petipa. It accompanies the festive celebrations for Princess Aurora's sixteenth birthday, as villagers bearing flower garlands fill the court with a grand ensemble waltz.
This adaptation, choreographed for eight female dancers, distils the grandeur of Petipa's original ensemble into an intimate yet vibrant staging. The dancers capture the joy and energy of the occasion, their swirling garlands and buoyant waltz steps conveying the spirit of celebration. Performed here for our audience, the piece invites all present to share in the festivities—a joyful outpouring of music and movement that sets the stage for the dance to unfold.

The two dancers maintain close physical contact throughout multiple sections of the work, generating movement through mutual support, counterbalance, leaning, and pulling against each other's weight.
In both its choreography and rhythmic structure, conte 01零壹 intertwines fluid, organic movement with mechanical qualities, enhanced by breath control to create a highly charged and dynamic texture. Through dense partner work and intricate bodily interactions, the piece crafts refined duets and striking visual compositions. Beginning with the coordination and transformation of four hands, the choreography develops from this simple physical concept, gradually expanding to create the illusion of "twins" or "conjoined bodies."
conte 01零壹 received the Jury Prize at the SAI Dance Festival 2026 Competition in Tokyo, and was subsequently invited to perform at the 12th Buddhism Dance Festival in Seoul and the AKIHA International Dance Festival in Niigata.

"The right time to roll the camera is when your eyes are truly ready."
Screendance is far more than simply recording a dance, it is an interdisciplinary art form that merges movement, cinematography, and spatial storytelling. Guided by Blue Ka Wing, this workshop invites participants to step into the dual roles of both dancer and director.
To spark inspiration and kick off a mental warm up, Blue will share her short dance film 《Peak Hour in the House》. She believes that for a Screendance filmmaker, a camera should never be just a cold piece of equipment. This workshop places deep emphasis on body awareness, exploring how to connect your shifts in weight and center of gravity with the lens, making the camera a natural extension of your limbs and senses. Furthermore, when creators experience and understand movement firsthand through their own bodies, they can bring heightened sensitivity and depth to every shot behind the lens.
Participants will learn a dance sequence together before embarking on single-take Screendance experiments across the venue. As identical choreography is observed and captured through diverse perspectives, combined with individual choices of camera movement, location, and flow, it will unfold into entirely distinct visual landscapes and emotional narratives.
Join us for this inspiring dialogue between body, camera and space. No professional equipment or filmmaking background is required, just bring your curiosity and discover the wonder when movement dances with the lens.

We grew up learning the rules. At the dinner table, the adults talked and the children shouldn’t interrupt. Which subject you'd study, which career, which person you'd end up with ,someone had already thought it through for you. Your dream was, in the end, the family's face.
Obedient became a language.
Silence was the dialect we spoke most fluently.
Even when the rules later loosened, they kept echoing inside. Permission isn't the same as a voice. Being allowed to speak, and actually being able to ,those were never the same thing. How do we learn to trust our own voice again?
