The fellowship aims to:

  • Match new choreographic talents with senior dance practitioners as their mentors to provide guidance and artistic development advice.
  • Provide in-kind publicity, brand building and administration support for projects artists are planning to engage in, to help them advance their careers.
  • Offer assistance to selected choreographic artists in broadening their artistic development, clarifying their aims and vision, and identifying and gaining the skills and knowledge needed to nurture their careers.

Dance Hub Workshop Series: Writing Dance Movement

To capture the ephemeral in words -- for the dance writer, this has always been a difficult and exciting challenge. How can a dance review not only offer an opinion, or a visual and dramatic description, but also take the reader into the sense of movement in the performance? This workshop explores ways into looking at and writing about movement from both analytical and imaginative perspectives. The workshop comprises of explanation of concepts, reading examples of dance writing, viewing of videos and practical writing exercises.
