Dance Wide HKNY was an exchange platform where full-fledged artists got together and shared their knowledge, explored new forms, exchanged and expanded their visions. Between July to December 2005, eight artist channeled their creative energies through series of workshops, forums, rehearsals, and performances in Hong Kong and New York. Gems of movement are expected from involved artists: Abby CHAN, Allen LAM, Andy WONG, YEUNG Wai Mei, Julian BARNETT, Maura DONOHUE, Rebecca JUNG, and Christopher MORGAN.
In its 4th anniversary program, Dance Wide HKNY invited U.S. choreographers who were known for their artistic perspectives and intercultural backgrounds: Julian BARNETT, a Japanese-Irish-American; Maura DONOHUE, a Vietnamese-Irish-American; Christopher MORGAN, a Chinese-Japanese-Hawaiian; and Rebecca JUNG, a Chinese-American. Theme of the 2005 forum focused on artistic development and social impacts through cross-cultural dance collaboration. The U.S. performance took place at the Mulberry St. Theatre on 27 August 2005 while the Hong Kong debut, titled "Back Home", was presented on 9 - 10 December 2005 at the Hong Kong Cultural Center.
