Hong Kong Dance Awards Online Presentation

 

The 23rd Hong Kong Dance Awards Presentation is still scheduled to take place at 8pm on 16 April 2022 (Saturday) but will now be online due to the current social restrictions. It will be streamed live on the Dance Alliance YouTube channel and Facebook page and will also be available to watch for the following days. Artistic Director for the Presentation is Angela Hang, the distinguished dancer and teacher who is the founder of STUDIODANZ.

 

 

Shortlisted Nominations

 

A total of over 50 outstanding nominations have been shortlisted under 15 award categories (please see the full list). The shortlists were determined by a ballot of expert panelists held after reviewing all the nominations received this year. A final ballot will be conducted in the coming weeks to decide the Awards with an expanded jury including all members of the HKDA Executive Committee.  Award recipients will be announced during the 23rd Hong Kong Dance Awards Online Presentation.

 

New category for Online Production

 

To reflect the ongoing trend of dance created for online viewing, the Awards will introduce a new artistic category, Online Production to recognize outstanding achievement in online work. Criteria for eligibility are as follows:

 

● Work must be presented online for the first time during the Awards eligibility period.

● Only complete works (not excerpts) will be eligible and should be at least 15 minutes long.

● Work must be created specifically for online viewing – video recordings of stage productions will not be considered.

● Only productions created for and shown online only, with no live version, will be eligible for nomination in this category.

 

 

NB: The above category is for dance creations only.  Online programmes of other kinds may be nominated under the Community or Education categories.
