Solitary by Rex Cheng
Solitary examines life and death from the perspectives of chronic patients and their caretakers. Conceptualized from the choreographer's own experience, he stimulates audience's train of thoughts about sufferings and desolation. It will exhibit an expressive performance that intrigues audience with the fabrication of movements, sound, lines and dance theatre.
In the hub of life and death,
Feeling the desolation and emptiness of the weak,
Searching for the second pulse in life.
Choreographer: Rex Cheng
Lighting Design: Au Yeung Hon Ki
Sound Design: Mike Yuen
Dancers: Odette Leung, Andy Lee, Soames Lee, Chan Wing-yip
Unmixed by KT Yau
Unmixed describes the gaps and wrestling across generations. Life is fraught with restrictions and boundaries which are painful to endure. Three devising dancers will demonstrate the inescapable confinement, which will echo with audience’s personal experiences. It will inspire them to reflect on their values and roles in a community.
The work describes the explicit attempt of humans to control others, which conveys the uselessness within an unescapable confinement.
You are invited to catch a glimpse of the participants who are floating in the choices made of unconsciousness, and experience their trivialness.
Choreographer: KT Yau
Lighting Design: Au Yeung Hon Ki
Sound Design: Wong Yi
Props Design: Kahy Chan
Devising Dancers: Kerry Cheung, Carman Li, Kingsan Lo
