The Hong Kong Dance Alliance is the official Hong Kong organization of the World Dance Alliance.

World Dance Alliance was set up in 1990 by the late Mr Carl Wolz, founder of School of Dance, the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. It is an independent, non-profit, non-political and non-religious organization that unites dancers and dance practitioners throughout the world. Its objectives include promoting the recognition, development and mutual understanding of all forms of dance, facilitating communication and exchange among dance individuals, institutions and organizations interested in dance, providing a forum for discussion of matters relating to dance, encouraging and supporting the research, education, criticism, creation and performance of dance, and liaising, co-coordinating and participating in activities with other dance organizations in the world. The three geographical branches of World Dance Alliance are WDA-Europe, WDA-Americas and WDA-Asia Pacific. Members come from high end education institutes, dance scholars and researchers, and experienced dance practitioners. World Dance Alliance has been actively collaborating with UNESCO on dance promotion worldwide. Specific tasks include the planning and drafting of the Constitution of World Alliance of Arts Education, promoting and participating in World Conference of Art Education, Seoul, 2010.
